SHELLEY’S SECRETS TO STAYING FIT AND HEALTHY AT 50!
MORNING ROUTINE –
Lemon water, Foam Rolling/Mobility/Yoga Flow – This has been an absolute game-changer for me. I have been doing this for many years now. Amazing way to start your day by moving your body and preparing your mind for the day ahead. This routine has changed and evolved over time.
NUTRITION – I feel very connected to what my body needs. I love eating healthy but am by no means perfect. I do eat chocolate everyday and love a champers! Always try to drink 3litres of water each day.
EXERCISE – As a retired athlete with a few old injuries, I’m limited to some exercises that I can do. I’ve learnt to really listen to my body and I know what it needs. I still manage to exercise 4-5x a week. We are so passionate about doing what you love, not what you ‘think you should do’. It’s all about moving your body like you love it. A big motivator of exercise is for my mental health. When you feel strong, you think strong thoughts.
SLEEP – Night time ritual of not having my phone. I love reading and I aim to go to sleep at the same time each night. Sleep is so important. It’s where our body repairs, restores, replenishes and rebalances. It’s where the magic happens from all of our hard work during the day.
STRESS MANAGEMENT/ MINDSET –
I love learning and growing and working on my mindset through coaching, podcasts, books and meditation.
